WEST PALM BEACH, FL-- A child has died after being left in a hot car, according
to the West Palm Beach Police Department.
Police say the three month old was left in its parent’s vehicle for two hours.
The family had spent time at a park and when they arrived home in their gated
West Palm Beach community Saturday, after a day in the park, they left their car
in the driveway and went inside.
The father thought the baby's mother had brought the infant inside and the
mother thought the father had.
Two hours later police say they noticed the baby was missing and found the
3-month old, still in the car seat in the stifling heat.
They brought their child in the house, realized they needed help, and rushed the
infant to Saint Mary's Medical Center.
NewsChannel 5 was told the baby died yesterday
morning of hypothermia.
The names of the infant and
parents have not been released.
Police will now meet with the Palm Beach County State Attorney's office to
determine if any charges will be filed.
