Child dies inside locked car near Shiprock

A four-year-old girl has died in a locked car west of Shiprock.  Navajo Nation police identify her as Krystin Orah Jim of Shiprock.

Lieutenant Clarence Bilagody says the girl apparently suffocated on Saturday in the rear seat.

He says all the doors and windows were locked.

And Bilagody says the car's child safety locks might have prevented her escape.
