WELLINGTON – An 8-month-old girl was rushed to an area hospital on Friday after
she was left alone in a hot car at her home, the Palm Beach Sheriff's Office
said.
Jayda Urioste was taken to the ICU unit at Palms West Hospital in nearby
Loxahatchee. A condition report was not immediately available.
According to Paul Miller, PBSO spokesman, the incident occurred around 11:30
a.m. when the child's 39-year-old grandfather returned home with her to the 2200
block of Appaloosa Trail.
The grandfather went into the house, but the child was left alone in the Ford
Focus for about an hour before family members realized the child was not in the
home and rushed to the hot car.
No arrest has been made in the case, Miller said. The investigation continues.
