WARWICK — A 3-year-old boy died Sunday after being found unconscious in the back
seat of his mother’s car, the police said.
Officers went to 42 Suburban Parkway at about 3:30 p.m. in response to a report
of a missing child. Just as they arrived, neighbors and family members searching
the area found the child in a Jaguar parked in front of the family’s house, said
Lt. Joseph Coffey. Officers performed CPR until an ambulance arrived and took
the child to Hasbro Children’s Hospital, where he was pronounced dead.
The police declined to identify the boy or give details. Coffey said an autopsy
will be performed Monday.
“We don’t know at this point, but on its face, through a preliminary
investigation, this appears to be a tragic accident,” Coffey said.

WARWICK, R.I. -- The child found dead Sunday in his family's parked car died of
heart failure due to overheating, Major Joseph H. Tavares of the Warwick police
said on Monday.
Tavares identified the child as James A. Lymburner, 3, of 42 Suburban Parkway.
He said the cause of death was determined after an autopsy performed by the
state Medical Examiner.
The boy was not in a car seat when he was found in the Jaguar parked in front of
the family's house at 42 Suburban Parkway, Tavares said, and the police believe
he had climbed into the car on his own. Calling the incident "a tragic, tragic
accident," Tavares added, "Nobody intended this to happen."
The Oakland Beach family had called the police to report the boy missing. As the
police arrived, a family member noticed the boy in the car, according to the
police.
Officers performed CPR until an ambulance arrived and took the child to Hasbro
Children's Hospital, where he was pronounced dead.
