Officials Release Name of 4-Year-Old

NORTH PLATTE, Neb. -- We now know the name of a boy who died after he was trapped in the trunk of his mother's car for more than an hour Monday.

North Platte police identified the victim as Jayden Swartwood, 4. He died Sunday after being flown to Omaha's Children's Hospital for treatment. That was four days after his mother found him in the trunk of the family car.

When discovered, Jayden was barely breathing and unconscious after being in the trunk as temperatures outside reached 81 degrees. His body temperature reached 105 degrees.

Investigators believe the incident was an accident. An autopsy will be conducted to determine the cause of death.
