The following table
shows the rainfall for the just completed rainfall season. The north
to south distribution is typical of what has been seen in previous La
Niņa seasons (see La Niņa
and California Rainfall), with above normal seasonal totals on the
north coast, near normal in the San Francisco Bay Area and Northern
California interior, and below normal in South Central and Southern
California. The exception is Bakersfield was 122% of normal, but this was
primarily due to an intense two day storm on January 24th and 25th that
accounted for 2.79 inches, or 40% of the entire seasons total.
