Infant left in car had temperature of 109, police say

A Miami-Dade woman has been arrested in connection with the heat-related death of an 11-month-old child who was left inside a vehicle, police said.

In an emailed release Friday, police said Catalina Marista Bruno, 31, has been charged with the aggravated manslaughter of a child.

The baby boy, Bryan Miguel Osceola, had a body temperature of 109 degrees when he was pronounced dead on Thursday at Kendall Regional Hospital, police said.

According to police, Bruno, the child's mother, put Bryan inside a vehicle in a car seat at her residence for an undetermined amount of time on Thursday.

The child was discovered when his father asked about his whereabouts and Bruno recalled leaving him in the vehicle, police said.
